Special Education Teacher - Saint Johns, Florida

This contract opportunity will have you leading a classroom designed to support children with varying exceptionalities, fostering academic growth and enhancing life skills in a vibrant school environment near Saint Johns, Florida. The assignment begins August 3, 2026, and continues through May 28, 2027. Expect a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week, with each workday spanning seven hours in one school location. Locations are to be confirmed, and efforts can be made to align with your school level preference when possible.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida ESE certification is required, along with either K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification.
- Demonstrated experience in a self-contained classroom setting is essential.
- Compliance with Florida’s fingerprinting requirements; prior prints through the AHCA Clearinghouse may be verified, otherwise, new prints will be required.
- Willingness to complete an internal eligibility and virtual prescreen interview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a self-contained classroom, providing tailored instruction for students with a wide range of exceptionalities.
- Develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with support staff.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment to help every student achieve their potential.
- Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and administrators regarding student progress and needs.
