This on-site, contract opportunity (not open to virtual/VOCO) is available for the 2026–2027 school year, totaling 35 hours per week. You’ll be part of a supportive academic setting with all assignments located at a single campus in the North West region, ensuring consistency and the chance to build deep connections with your classroom community.
What you bring:
- Current Florida ESE certification, along with K–6 or PK–3 General Education certification
- Proven experience working in self-contained special education settings
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to support students with varying learning levels and needs
- Willingness to complete Florida fingerprinting requirements for school district compliance
- Flexibility to work primarily in elementary settings—with consideration given to other grade band preferences when possible
What you’ll do:
- Lead your own self-contained ESE classroom, adapting instruction to meet the individualized needs and exceptionalities of students
- Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to develop and implement IEPs
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages academic growth and social development
- Communicate regularly with families and advocates, sharing progress and addressing challenges
- Participate in professional development and ongoing training as part of a dedicated school team
This role begins August 3rd, 2026, and continues through May 28th, 2027. The hiring process includes a virtual prescreen interview to determine best fit, followed by credentialing steps, including fingerprint verification through the AHCA Clearinghouse and eligibility interview.
