Blazer Jobs is partnering with school districts in the San Francisco area to hire passionate Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. Compensation begins at $48/hour and increases based on experience, credentials, district placement, and flexibility.
Position Responsibilities
As a Special Education Teacher, you will:
Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Provide specialized instruction that supports each student's academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, administrators, and families to ensure student success.
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies.
Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education guidelines.
Foster an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
Active California Special Education Teaching Credential
Authorization to teach students with disabilities in California
Ability to complete all district onboarding requirements prior to the start date
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous school-based experience
Experience developing and implementing IEPs
Experience with Mild/Moderate and/or Moderate/Severe caseloads
Knowledge of California special education compliance and best practices
