Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year near Shawnee, KS. Qualifications:
- Active Kansas Special Education teaching license appropriate for your selected grade level (required prior to district placement)
- Experience or enthusiasm for working in life skills, autism, or behavioral support classrooms
- Ability to differentiate instruction and collaborate with team members for individualized student success
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Previous experience in a similar role is valued, but encouraging to both new and seasoned educators
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with a range of abilities
- Create a safe and supportive classroom culture that nurtures respect, trust, and learning
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to foster progress in academic and functional skill domains
- Consistently assess student development and adapt interventions as needed
- Serve as an advocate and resource for students and families
This is a contract opportunity for the entire school year, August 2026 through May 2027. You’ll join a team committed to inclusion and student-centered teaching.
