Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current Texas Special Education (SPED) licensure required
- Proven experience working with students with autism, emotional/behavioral needs, and varying functioning levels
- Familiarity with assistive/augmentative communication (AAC) devices and supporting non-verbal students
- Ability to address and manage sensory issues and toileting needs
- Strong classroom management skills and a compassionate, adaptable teaching style
- Commitment to collaborative teamwork with paraprofessionals and related service providers
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students in a self-contained classroom
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs
- Utilize and support the use of AAC devices for non-verbal students
- Address toileting, sensory, and behavioral needs with empathy and professionalism
- Track progress, complete IEP documentation, and maintain regular communication with families
