An excellent opportunity awaits for an experienced Special Education Teacher to step into a long-term substitute role spanning from ASAP through June 24, 2027. This full-time contract position focuses on a middle school caseload within a substantially separate classroom setting. You'll be guiding and supporting a group of nine students, making a significant and lasting impact during a crucial time in their academic journey.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education Teaching Certification is required
- Prior experience with middle school-aged students is highly preferred
- Comfortable teaching in a substantially separate classroom environment
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and data-driven instruction
- Ability to tailor strategies to meet diverse learning needs and classroom dynamics
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to a small group of students according to their individual education plans
- Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate varying learning styles and needs
- Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support student progress
- Monitor, assess, and communicate student growth while maintaining thorough documentation
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Manage classroom routines and ensure a safe, nurturing space for all students
