Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students in a self-contained classroom setting. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work on-site with a dedicated team focused on creating a supportive and effective learning environment for K–5th grade students. With no special education teacher in the school for the past three years, your experience and passion will be key in shaping a positive classroom culture and providing much-needed support.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Educator Certification in Special Education
  • Experience in self-contained classroom settings preferred
  • Ability to support students with a range of needs, including some toileting assistance
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to fostering inclusion and individualized instruction

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to K–5th grade students with diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate with a second special education teacher to divide and manage a caseload of 20 students
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Create a structured, nurturing environment that encourages student growth and independence
  • Partner with support staff and classroom aides to ensure continuity of care and instruction
  • Maintain thorough documentation, progress reports, and communication with families
