Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to middle school students' diverse needs
- Provide direct instruction in mathematics and support across academic content areas
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, managing varied student behaviors
- Work closely with general education staff, specialists, and families to maximize student growth
- Utilize data-driven instructional methods and monitor progress toward academic and behavioral goals
- Manage documentation and maintain compliance with school and state requirements
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and ongoing professional development
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan teaching certification with Mathematics (EX) endorsement
- At least one of the following special education endorsements: Autism (SV), Cognitive Impairment (SA), Emotional Impairment (SE), or Learning Disabilities (SM)
- Previous experience working with middle school-aged students preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to support students with varying strengths and needs
