Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Special Education teaching certification for the state of Washington
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in Life Skills or similar special education settings preferred
- Strong commitment to differentiated instruction, individualized learning plans, and evidence-based practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Passion for supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and interventions to students in a specialized Life Skills classroom setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with federal and state regulations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Track progress and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school and regulatory guidelines
- Foster independence, social skills, and functional academic growth in each student
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing training as necessary
