Special Education Teacher - Sylva, NC

Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction to K-3 students requiring special education services, ensuring progress toward IEP goals.
- Develop, write, and maintain IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Track and document student growth, accommodations, and interventions.
- Work closely with general education teachers to coordinate inclusion opportunities and co-teaching strategies.
- Facilitate small group and one-on-one sessions based on student needs.
- Communicate regularly with families about progress, challenges, and successes.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and IEP meetings as required.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
