Special Education Teacher in Portage, IN

Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Indiana Special Education Teaching Certification
- Certification in Mild Intervention or Intense Intervention
- Experience working with high school students preferred
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
- Passion for helping students achieve both academic and personal milestones
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction and support to high school students in an applied skills classroom setting
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to address each student’s unique academic and functional needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and behavior interventions
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student independence and confidence
- Engage actively with parents and caregivers to support student success throughout the school year
Enjoy the flexibility and security of a contract position with a competitive pay range of $40-$45 per hour for 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a start date as soon as possible and continuing through June 4th.
