Qualifications:
- Valid Indiana Special Education Teaching Certification
- Endorsement in mild intervention or intense intervention
- Previous experience working with high school students, particularly in applied skills or life skills settings, is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to build relationships with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to individualized learning strategies and inclusive teaching practices
Responsibilities:
- Serve a caseload of 14 high school students in an applied skills classroom
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs and abilities
- Adapt curriculum and classroom activities to support academic and functional skills development
- Work closely with instructional aides and related service personnel to provide comprehensive support
- Communicate progress and goals with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Utilize positive behavior interventions to facilitate student engagement and success
- Document student progress and stay current on best practices in special education
This contract offers 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and provides a highly competitive pay range of $40–$45 per hour, paid weekly.
