Qualifications:
- Valid Kansas Special Education Teaching Certification (SPED Cert in KS required)
- Experience working in resource and/or specialized (self-contained) special education classrooms preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, both with students and educational teams
- A passion for supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of diverse learners
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Adapt instructional methods and materials to support students with varying abilities
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture for both elementary and secondary students
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to promote student progress
- Maintain accurate records related to student achievement, attendance, and IEP compliance
This contract spans the school year, running from mid-August to late May, with 37.5 hours per week at a single campus. You’ll be part of a collaborative, dedicated team, and will have the satisfaction of building meaningful relationships with students and colleagues alike.
