Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday, onsite)
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This full-time, onsite role is within a self-contained classroom, providing individualized instruction and academic support to students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating an engaging learning environment and collaborating with school staff to help students achieve their educational goals.
Qualifications:
Active Alabama Special Education Teacher certification (K–5)
Experience working in a self-contained classroom preferred
Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills
Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained elementary classroom
Develop and implement IEPs aligned with student goals
Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
Collaborate with families, general education teachers, and related service providers
Maintain accurate and compliant special education documentation
