Special Education Teacher - Ukiah, California

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher, providing crucial support to students in a dynamic school environment near Ukiah, CA. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in person with an ESN Moderate/Severe (M/S) caseload, potentially within a Middle School or Transition Program. You’ll help students achieve their fullest potential through tailored instruction and empathetic guidance during the extended school year (FSY), with a full-time schedule.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Credential
- Experience with Moderate/Severe (M/S) caseloads, including ESN
- Familiarity with Middle School or Transition Programs preferred
- Ability to develop and adapt IEPs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction adapted to ESN M/S students
- Develop, implement, and regularly update IEPs in collaboration with other support staff
- Track student progress, communicate results, and make instructional adjustments as needed
- Coordinate closely with general education teachers, families, and specialists
- Employ evidence-based teaching methodologies to support diverse learning needs
- Support students during the full school year and extended school year (FSY) sessions
