Make a significant impact supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a full-time, onsite contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year. Several openings are available at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, offering the chance to contribute your subject matter expertise and passion for student growth in a dynamic educational environment.
Openings & Hours:
- 1 Elementary school position (8:30 AM–4:00 PM)
- 1 Middle school position (8:30 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–3:15 PM, schedule TBD)
- 2 High school positions (7:15 AM–2:45 PM)
- All positions are 35 hours per week, running from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027.
Qualifications:
- Active Special Education certification/licensure appropriate to caseload
- Bachelor’s degree required for emergency permit eligibility
- Previous school-based experience is essential
- Experience working within urban educational settings
- Solid classroom and behavior management abilities
- Proficiency with formative assessment and differentiated instruction aligned to Pennsylvania standards
- Ability to complete all required PA clearances
- Reliable transportation for daily onsite attendance
- Flexibility to work the posted school hours without schedule accommodations
- Comfort adapting to school district and local environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and district guidelines
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Employ effective classroom management techniques to foster a positive environment
- Collaborate with staff and families to support each student’s IEP and learning goals
- Leverage a variety of instructional resources and strategies for student success
