Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for middle school level
- Previous experience working with students in special education programs (General Curriculum and/or Adapted Curriculum strongly preferred)
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, dynamic, and positive learning atmosphere
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and adapt curriculum to suit individual learner needs in either a General or Adapted Curriculum classroom
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure student success
- Develop and update individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student progress, assessments, and team input
- Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions
- Foster a supportive, encouraging, and respectful classroom environment for all students
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with local and federal guidelines
