You’ll work contractually with elementary and older students, utilizing your NY State Special Education Teacher Certification and Master’s degree to deliver targeted instruction to students with a variety of learning profiles and support needs.
Key Details:
- Contract begins upon completion of background checks and runs through June 26, 2026, with an option to participate in a dynamic 6-week summer program.
- Full-time, 35 hours per week; daily hours are either 8:00 am–3:30 pm or 8:30 am–4:00 pm.
- Diverse age ranges: preschool through grade 3, and additionally supporting students aged 12–22 as needed.
Your Impact:
- Serve as lead educator for caseloads of 6–8 students, supported by three skilled staff per class.
- Provide specialized instruction for both verbal and non-verbal students, adapting curriculum and behavioral strategies to meet individual needs.
- Foster positive learning environments for students exhibiting a wide spectrum of abilities and behaviors—comprehensive staff training is provided to ensure every member feels equipped and valued.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement IEPs, track student progress, and communicate with families.
Qualifications:
- NY State Special Education Teacher Certification (in applicable grade bands)
- Master’s degree in Education
- Experience working with students across elementary, middle, and high school levels
- Demonstrated ability to support students with diverse behavioral and communication needs
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
