Special Education Teacher in Waterbury, VT
An exciting remote opportunity is available for a Special Education professional ready to take on a pivotal role as a Case Manager/Coordinator for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract position offers the chance to work with high school students in a virtual setting, fostering growth and ensuring compliance with all state and federal special education requirements. Qualifications:
- Active Vermont Special Educator license required
- Demonstrated experience as a virtual SPED case manager in Vermont
- Proficiency in IEP writing, compliance, and case management
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable leading and collaborating with teachers, related service providers, and families
- Able to provide two supervisor references from prior virtual SPED roles
Responsibilities:
- Act as lead case manager for approximately 45 high school students across two grades
- Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings, evaluations, and annual reviews
- Write and update compliant IEPs, monitor student progress, and ensure all deadlines are met
- Maintain weekly communication with staff and families regarding student goals and needs
- Review academic and behavioral data to inform decisions and IEP adjustments
- Support teams to guarantee accommodations and modifications are properly implemented
- Foster a collaborative, communicative online culture with your small core team
