Special Education Teacher in Waterbury, VT

Successful candidates will fill one of three available roles:
- Middle school in-person Special Educator providing both services and case management.
- Middle school in-person Special Educator focusing on direct services and collaborating with a remote Case Coordinator.
- High school in-person Special Educator managing both service provision and case management responsibilities.
Desired Background and Qualifications:
- Hold valid state credentials required for Special Education teaching.
- Previous experience supporting students with diverse educational needs preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Commitment to in-person engagement—remote options are not available for these roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs.
- Manage and monitor IEP goals and ensure compliance with educational standards.
- Collaborate with faculty, families, and support staff to foster student achievement.
- Maintain accurate records and document progress.
- Provide compassionate advocacy for students at every level.
This role offers the balance of a set weekly schedule—37.5 hours per week—and the satisfaction of creating improved educational outcomes for students. The contract will run from late August 2026 through mid-June 2027, allowing you to play an integral role throughout the school year.
