Special Education Teacher in Waterbury, VT

Three dedicated contract Special Education professionals are needed to fill in-person positions working with middle and high school students. These roles offer the opportunity to empower learners, build meaningful relationships, and collaborate with a committed educational team throughout the school year.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification meeting all state requirements
- Previous experience working directly with middle or high school students in a special education environment is preferred
- Strong case management, documentation, and IEP implementation skills
- Ability to work effectively in-person as these are not remote/virtual roles
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities to work with families, students, and interdisciplinary teams
In these roles, you’ll be responsible for:
- Providing individualized and small-group instructional support for students with diverse learning needs
- Developing, implementing, and managing IEPs, including progress monitoring and reporting
- Coordinating closely with families, teachers, and support staff to ensure consistent, supportive educational experiences
- For some positions, working as the primary case manager; for others, collaborating with a remote Case Coordinator to focus primarily on delivering services
These contract opportunities offer a set schedule across the full school year, August 28, 2026, through June 18, 2027, at 37.5 hours per week, ensuring stability and a clear sense of purpose as you guide students’ progress.
