Special Education Teacher
Special Education Teacher (Therapeutic Program) – Full-Time
Location: Waterford, MI
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time, onsite opportunity in a Therapeutic Program in Waterford, Michigan. This position serves an elementary (K–5) caseload and offers the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment with exceptional classroom support.
Position Details:
Full-time, onsite position
Elementary (K–5) therapeutic classroom
Approximately 10 students
Three paraprofessionals assigned to the classroom
Collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to students with behavioral and therapeutic needs in accordance with their IEPs
Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that promote academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of IEP goals and objectives
Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success
Foster a structured, positive, and therapeutic learning environment that encourages student growth and independence
Requirements:
Active Michigan Special Education Teaching Certification required
Experience working with behavioral and therapeutic student populations preferred
Strong classroom management, collaboration, and communication skills
Passion for supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
