Make a meaningful difference for students as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming elementary school setting. This contract role offers two caseload options—tailored for educators ready to nurture individual growth and empower students with diverse needs.
Position 1 focuses on supporting elementary students with significant behavioral challenges. With individualized attention (starting with a caseload of 2, possibly increasing to up to 7), you’ll collaborate with a paraeducator in the classroom. Position 2 centers on providing specialized instruction to elementary learners with physical disabilities and autism, managing a caseload of 7 to 8 students with the additional support of a para.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Wisconsin Cross Categorical (K-5) teaching certification required
- Experience working with elementary-age students with behavioral needs, physical disabilities, or autism preferred
- Demonstrated skills in behavior management, individualized instruction, and collaboration with support staff
- Strong communication skills and compassion for diverse learners
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, adaptive instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Coordinate with paraeducators to support all student needs in the classroom
- Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and school staff to achieve student goals
- Maintain accurate records and ongoing documentation of student progress
This full-time contract role keeps your workweek predictable, Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 3:30pm, so you can dedicate your focus to your students' growth.
