You’ll provide specialized instruction and support, fostering growth and development in students with a range of exceptionalities. As part of a collaborative educational environment, you'll implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), set and track progress toward goals, and maintain a nurturing, structured classroom atmosphere. Your expertise and commitment will be vital in helping each student achieve their full potential.
Qualifications:
- State of South Carolina Special Education Teacher Certification: Multi-categorical (PK–Grade 12), or eligibility to obtain
- Solid understanding of the IEP process, including developing and monitoring goals
- Comfortable delivering instruction and services in person and onsite, following the school’s daily and yearly calendar
- Previous experience working with elementary-age students in special education preferred
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute individualized lesson plans that address the goals of each child’s IEP
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to maximize student outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
- Create an inclusive, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Engage in ongoing professional growth and participate in staff meetings and trainings as needed
