Special Education Teacher in West Hartford, CT

This contract position offers the opportunity to work full-time, Monday through Friday, supporting students in grades K-7 in a dynamic and collaborative school environment. You'll play a vital role as a Resource Teacher, providing dedicated instruction and case management for students requiring specialized services.
We are seeking three talented educators for the following positions: Kindergarten Resource Teacher, Grade 1-2 Resource Teacher, and 7th Grade Resource/Case Manager. Each position allows you to focus on a specific age group, developing individualized learning plans to empower each student’s growth. This in-person role is based near West Hartford, CT, with a consistent weekly schedule of 35-37.5 hours.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification (or eligibility) in Connecticut
- Experience working with K-7 students in a resource or inclusive setting
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Commitment to fostering a positive and individualized learning environment
- Flexibility and adaptability in a school setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver resource support services to assigned students within the designated caseload
- Develop, monitor, and manage IEPs while meeting required timelines and documentation
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional materials
- Provide progress monitoring and behavioral support as needed
- Act as a case manager, working with families and related service professionals
