Special Education Teacher | Westerville, Ohio

Bring your expertise and passion for special education to make a meaningful impact in high school classrooms just east of Columbus. Four full-time Intervention Specialist opportunities are available for skilled Special Education Teachers eager to support student growth in a welcoming and collaborative environment. You’ll have the chance to work closely with paraeducators and dedicated staff to enhance learning experiences for every student.
Openings include:
- 1 Behavioral unit classroom (BFLIC SPED): Serve up to 12 students, with the support of a paraeducator.
- 2 Multiple Disabilities classrooms (MDLIC SPED): Serve up to 8 students per class, with two paraeducators in each.
- 1 Cross-categorical SPED: Work with a diverse range of needs across student populations.
Position Details:
- Contract positions, starting as soon as possible through May 28th
- 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Special Education Teaching certification in Ohio
- Prior experience serving high school students with behavioral, multiple disabilities, or cross-categorical needs
- Strong skills in classroom management, differentiated instruction, and collaboration
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and commitment to student-centered learning
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to student strengths and needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction for students with disabilities
- Work closely with paraeducators and other specialists to support classroom needs
- Manage IEP processes, documentation, and progress monitoring
- Foster an inclusive, supportive class environment geared toward growth and independence
