Qualifications:
- Valid Delaware Special Education Teacher license is required
- Previous teaching experience in a special education setting preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive and encouraging learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction for students with diverse learning needs
- Assess student progress, adapting instructional methods as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Foster student independence, social skills, and academic development
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goal-setting
- Support a positive classroom culture where all students feel valued
Assignment Details:
- Full-time: 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Schedule varies by school (elementary, middle, and high school hours available)
- Positions available at multiple school sites—candidates may indicate their preferred location
- Contract runs from August 25, 2026, through June 8, 2027
