Special Education Teacher - Winder, Georgia

This contract opportunity spans the full 2026-2027 school year, offering a meaningful, hands-on role at two welcoming campuses near Winder, GA. You’ll join a dedicated team focused on providing tailored instruction for students with varying physical, academic, and social-emotional needs.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia SPED teaching license with the appropriate endorsements for Adaptive or General Curriculum
- Experience working in self-contained settings with students with moderate to high support needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Knowledge of adaptive and differentiated instructional techniques for special populations
- Strong collaboration skills to work with related service providers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Compassionate, flexible, and committed to advocating for student success
- Organizational ability to maintain records, implement IEPs, and assess student progress effectively
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement individualized, evidence-based instruction for students in a self-contained classroom setting
- Adapt curriculum and modify materials to address diverse physical and academic needs, following students’ IEPs
- Foster a safe, positive environment that encourages growth, independence, and peer interaction
- Collect data and regularly monitor student progress toward academic, behavioral, and functional goals
- Communicate proactively with families, staff, and administrators regarding student progress and classroom initiatives
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with supportive specialists
This position is full-time, onsite only (no virtual options), and provides the chance to impact students in a cohesive, supportive educational community. The assignment covers 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from late July through May.
