An exciting opportunity awaits for a skilled Special Education Teacher seeking a contract assignment for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time position supports 1st and 2nd grade students and is ideal for educators eager to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant, inclusive learning environment. The assignment spans from August 2026 through June 2027, with hours totaling 32.5–37.5 per week, Monday through Friday.
Desired Qualifications:
- State certification in Special Education required
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly 1st and 2nd grades, is highly preferred
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to tailor instruction to diverse learning needs
- Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and respectful educational environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to meet each child’s unique educational needs within inclusive and small group classroom settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to integrate accommodations and modifications
- Monitor student progress and maintain comprehensive records in compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
