Special Education Teacher in Andover, MN

Several contract opportunities are available for experienced Special Education professionals to provide essential instruction and guidance within high-quality center-based and resource settings.
As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll work alongside dedicated colleagues to deliver personalized educational plans and facilitate academic, social, and behavioral growth. Positions are available at various elementary campuses, with start and end dates from September 8, 2026, to June 10, 2027. You’ll enjoy a predictable weekly schedule with 37.5 hours and manageable caseloads.
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- At least two years of experience as a Special Education teacher (excluding gen ed, paraprofessional, or substitute experience)
- Valid Minnesota Tier 3 or Tier 4 Special Education license in one or more of the following areas:
- ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
- DCD (Developmental Cognitive Disorder)
- EBD (Emotional Behavior Disorder)
- ABS (Academic Behavior Strategist)
- Endorsements matching each center or resource assignment (see below)
- Strong skills in collaboration, adaptability, case management, and development of individualized education plans (IEPs)
Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction in Center Based ASD/DCD, SEL, or Resource classrooms, matched to licensure and endorsement(s)
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom culture that promotes student engagement
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all special education processes and deadlines
