Special Education Teacher - Andover, MN
Make a meaningful impact in students’ lives with a fulfilling opportunity that combines both Special Education teaching and Behavior Intervention support. Enjoy a dynamic contract position, working onsite in a school setting for 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from approximately 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Each day, you’ll start by supporting high school special education in the morning and transition to consulting with elementary teams on behavior intervention strategies in the afternoon. In the Behavior Intervention Specialist capacity, you’ll serve as a valued resource, helping teachers develop and implement effective behavior plans, rather than carrying an individual caseload.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current and active Minnesota Teaching License
- Tier 3 or Tier 4 licensure specifically for Special Education Teachers in Minnesota
- Experience with both high school special education and elementary behavior interventions is highly desirable
- Strong collaborative approach and excellent communication skills
- Ability to provide your resume and proof of Minnesota licensure during application
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction and specialized support to high school students with unique learning needs
- Serve as a behavior consultation expert for elementary educators, offering guidance on developing, implementing, and monitoring behavior plans
- Foster a positive, supportive environment for students and staff alike
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to support intervention fidelity and student growth
- Participate in ongoing professional development and school meetings
