Special Education Teacher | Saint Paul, Minnesota
Make a real difference working with students as a Special Education professional in a dynamic educational setting near Saint Paul, MN. This contract opportunity runs from August 17, 2026, through June 3, 2027, offering 37.5 hours per week across multiple middle and elementary schools. Positions include a range of caseloads such as resource teaching, ASD and DCD center-based programs, and an FMLA leave coverage at the middle school level.
The center-based programs support students primarily with behavioral needs and provide cross-categorical specialized services. Your expertise in behavior management, classroom structure, and problem-solving will be essential in making a positive impact.
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching credential in one or more of the following:
- Special Education: Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Special Education: Developmental Disabilities
- Special Education: Early Childhood
- Special Education: Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Special Education: Learning Disabilities
- Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (ABS license is not required, but accepted)
- Strong attendance record
- Comprehensive understanding of behavior plans, effective classroom routines, and structure
- Effective instructional skills and the ability to implement differentiated strategies
- Collaborative approach when working with fellow special education, general education colleagues, and paraprofessionals
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and supports based on students’ IEPs
- Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans
- Foster a positive, structured classroom environment
- Collaborate regularly with school teams and paraprofessional staff
- Engage in data collection and student progress monitoring
