Special Education Teacher in Augusta, KS

You'll serve a manageable caseload of approximately 10 students, providing targeted instruction and support throughout the academic year from August 11, 2026, to May 19, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Current low-incidence special education teaching license required; must be valid at the time of submission
- Experience working with students with significant disabilities highly preferred
- Ability to deliver individualized instruction tailored to unique learning needs
- Strong collaboration skills to work with paraprofessionals, therapists, families, and support staff
- Commitment to providing services in-person (virtual/remote options are not available)
- Previous experience in an elementary or secondary school setting is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of around 10 students, delivering specialized instruction and support based on their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Develop lesson plans, modify curriculum, and track student progress aligned with educational goals
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth and independence
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in IEP meetings
- Communicate effectively with families to support student development
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with school and state requirements
