Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential support as a Special Education Teacher in a nearby district. This opportunity centers on serving students with significant disabilities, with openings at both the elementary and secondary levels for the upcoming academic year. Each classroom maintains a focused caseload of approximately 10 students, ensuring dedicated attention and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
Key qualifications:
- Current licensure in Special Education with a Low-Incidence endorsement (must be obtained prior to placement)
- Experience working with students with significant or mixed abilities/disabilities
- Comfortable supporting individualized education plans in person (remote work is not available)
- Committed to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with support staff and families
- Adaptability in meeting diverse academic, social, and behavioral needs
Primary responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and implement instructional strategies tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs
- Design and manage Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, specialists, and administrators
- Track progress and maintain accurate documentation according to educational standards and legal guidelines
- Facilitate engaging, accessible learning experiences that promote academic and personal growth
- Participate in school/district meetings, professional development, and consultations as required
