This full-time position is based at the middle school level, working directly onsite with a dedicated team and supportive staff. The role offers a dynamic environment with 10 students, peer mentors, two full-time paraeducators, and comprehensive support from specialists such as a BCBA, SLP, OT/PT, and Psych/SW.
Qualifications & Experience:
- At least one year of direct classroom experience in special education is required.
- Possession of an active or in-process CDE license (Colorado Department of Education) is mandatory. Be prepared to provide verification with your application.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive environment for students with diverse needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Foster an inclusive and welcoming classroom culture that encourages participation from peer mentors and paraeducators.
- Collaborate regularly with the BCBA, SLP, OT/PT, psychological services, and social work professionals to support holistic student development.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the unique requirements of each student.
- Communicate progress and strategies with parents, guardians, and the broader support team.
This school-based role spans from August 2026 to May 2027, offering stable, predictable hours each week—with paid time allocated for classroom duties and a mid-day break.
