Make a difference each day by empowering young adults with special needs as a Transitions Intensive Teacher, focusing on student independence and job readiness for individuals aged 18-21. This full-time, onsite contract role provides you the opportunity to work in a supportive educational environment, helping students build crucial life and community skills. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license required (or proof of license in process; applications without this cannot be considered)
- Minimum of one year’s classroom teaching experience, ideally in special education
- Skilled in writing IEPs and BSPs, as well as implementing and monitoring required supports
- Strong team collaborator committed to flexibility and student-centered strategies
- Passionate about developing job readiness and life skills in young adults
- Ability to collect and analyze student data to inform instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead classroom and community-based instruction for a caseload of 12 students aged 18-21
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
- Facilitate learning opportunities related to job readiness, independent living, and community engagement
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families to support student success
- Accurately collect data and track student progress toward goals
- Help students maximize independence and transition smoothly into adulthood
This position offers a consistent weekday schedule (8am-4pm), with 37.5 hours per week including 2.5 hours of unpaid lunch and plenty of time to invest in your students’ growth and development.
