You’ll work collaboratively with general education teachers, families, and specialists to design and implement individualized educational programs that foster growth and build confidence.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state-approved)
- Experience teaching or assisting students in a K-8 setting
- Understanding of the needs of students with disabilities and how to tailor instruction
- Strong communication skills to liaise with colleagues and families
- Ability to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Dedication to creating a safe, encouraging, and inclusive classroom
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and intervention for four identified students in 2nd and 3rd grade
- Develop and monitor progress on IEPs, documenting outcomes and updating strategies as needed
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and assignments
- Foster students’ social and emotional learning alongside academic skills
- Communicate regularly with students’ families, offering updates and support
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and evaluation processes
