Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification
  • Experience working with high school-aged youth, preferably in dropout recovery or alternative settings
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes, progress monitoring, and data-driven instruction
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and students
  • Comfortable with full-time hours (40 hours per week) and direct student support on site

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop, monitor, and update IEPs tailored to individual student needs
  • Implement evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions
  • Modify curriculum materials to accommodate learning differences and maximize student potential
  • Maintain clear communication with students, families, and school staff regarding educational progress
  • Foster a positive classroom climate to motivate students and encourage educational persistence
  • Document all required special education compliance paperwork in a timely manner
