What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Maryland Special Education Teacher certification (required)
- Experience with lifeskills, self-contained, or behavior-focused classrooms—middle or elementary
- Ability to adapt strategies to individual learning needs
- Commitment to fostering positive, inclusive classroom cultures
- Effective communication skills and collaborative mindset
- Previous experience in special education strongly preferred
Your Impactful Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to students’ IEPs
- Develop and implement behavioral and academic interventions
- Foster student independence, life skills, and emotional growth
- Partner with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings and progress monitoring
- Create structured, nurturing learning environments
