Currently seeking three dedicated Special Education professionals for full-time, onsite contracts, supporting elementary and middle school students. This role covers several engaging settings, including the Learning for Life Program at the middle school level, an elementary self-contained classroom, and a behavior-focused caseload at another elementary site.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification appropriate for the assigned age group
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including behavioral supports and self-contained classrooms
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Adaptability and patience, with a student-focused approach to individualized instruction
- Background in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction and learning activities for assigned caseloads: Oakdale Middle School (up to 15 students, Learning for Life Program, hours 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.); elementary site (self-contained, up to 10 students, hours 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.); Centerville Elementary (self-contained behavior caseload)
- Develop lesson plans and interventions tailored to individual student needs and IEP goals
- Monitor student progress, prepare progress reports, and participate in parent/guardian meetings and IEP conferences
- Collaborate with related service providers and general education staff in the creation of supportive learning environments
- Use evidence-based strategies to foster academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
