Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher - Elementary Hub
The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to join its specialized educational team for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time, onsite position will primarily support students within the district's Pre-K through Elementary DHH hub, providing consultative and direct services based on individual student needs.
Assignment Details
- Position: Full-time; 37.5 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, August 3, 2026 – May 28, 2027
- Setting: Onsite position only
- Caseload and school assignment determined by district needs
- Services are primarily consultative but may include direct instruction and support
Required Qualifications
- Active Tennessee Department of Education (TN DOE) Certification for Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Eligible to work onsite in Tennessee schools
- Ability to obtain required Tennessee fingerprint clearance
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Experience providing consultative services within a school setting
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities
- Provide educational support and consultation for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement accommodations and modifications
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain required documentation
- Monitor student progress and adjust services as needed
- Partner with families and educational teams to promote student achievement
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal special education regulations
