Qualifications and Experience:
- Active New York State Special Education Teacher Certification required
- Completion of NY DOE fingerprinting process
- Prior experience working with secondary students in an educational or tutoring capacity preferred
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to individualize instructional strategies and adapt materials as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and tutoring to students requiring additional academic support
- Develop, implement, and monitor progress on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
- Maintain accurate documentation and timely communication regarding student progress
- Participate in professional development as required by the assignment or district guidelines
- Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment to encourage student engagement
