Qualifications and Skills:
- Current certification in severe/profound special education (elementary preferred)
- Possession of Elementary Certification is required
- At least 1 year of experience working with students in special education settings
- Solid understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs), behavioral strategies, and classroom management
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school teams
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learner needs and create an inclusive environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on each student’s IEP
- Employ effective teaching methods and modifications for severe/profound student populations
- Closely monitor student progress and maintain detailed documentation
- Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary team members to foster student growth
- Engage in data collection, progress monitoring, and ongoing assessment
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and encouraging classroom climate
