Preferred Background & Credentials:
- Valid teaching license with Special Education certification
- Experience working with elementary school students, preferably in K-5 settings
- Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt instruction to varied learning needs
- Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with families, staff, and other professionals
- Open to both experienced Special Education teachers and recent graduates with the appropriate credentials
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and carry out individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
- Provide direct instruction, interventions, and accommodations per student needs
- Create a nurturing classroom environment encouraging student growth and independence
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to manage behaviors and facilitate learning
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents for student success
- Track student progress, adjust goals as needed, and maintain accurate records
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development as required
