Special Education Teacher | Dearborn, Michigan

This full-time contract opportunity allows you to work in a collaborative environment for the entire 2025–2026 school year (end-of-school-year contract). You’ll provide essential services and have a positive impact on students who benefit from personalized education and encouragement.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Michigan Special Education Teacher License preferred; candidates actively pursuing their endorsement will be considered
- Experience with high school–aged students is strongly valued
- Strong understanding of inclusion, resource room, and push-in service models
- Proficient with developing, managing, and implementing IEPs
- Skilled in administering evaluations and re-evaluations
- Ability to collaborate closely with general education staff, related service providers, and family members
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage an IEP caseload of 14–18 students, with additional team support readily available
- Develop individualized educational plans and monitor student progress
- Conduct thorough evaluations, using data-driven insights for instructional planning
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to diverse learning needs across inclusion and resource settings
- Serve as a collaborative partner to gen ed colleagues and engage actively with parents and guardians
- Optional: participate in a paid weekly Monday meeting (4:00–5:00 PM)
You’ll work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a caseload that prioritizes manageable numbers and real support. Expect to build strong relationships and be part of a solution-focused, resourceful team, all while advancing your skills in a high-impact role.
