This opportunity offers the chance to work closely with a small caseload, allowing for meaningful connections and impactful teaching, beginning at the start of the 26-27 academic year and concluding at its end.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Must hold valid Special Education Teacher certification.
- Experience working with secondary (high school) age students preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Ability to adapt instructional methods in both general and special education settings.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for partnering with staff, parents, and service providers.
- Knowledge of evidence-based teaching strategies for diverse learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support approximately 10 high school students, providing instruction and modifications tailored to each learner.
- Deliver services in both inclusive general education classrooms and in specialized settings, depending on student needs.
- Develop, monitor, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Track student progress and maintain detailed records in compliance with federal, state, and school guidelines.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to facilitate effective inclusion and accommodations.
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress and growth.
