With two full-time positions available, you’ll make a significant impact in either an elementary (mild/moderate needs) or high school (affective needs, including more severe emotional and behavioral disabilities) setting. Positions are on-site and require a commitment of 37.5 hours per week at a single assigned school, allowing you to truly focus on your students and their progress.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Colorado Department of Education (CO DOE) Teacher License with Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement required
- Experience in Special Education, with strengths supporting students with mild/moderate or affective needs
- For high school placement: Expertise in autism support, FBA and BIP implementation, special education math, CPI/de-escalation techniques, ABA or similar behavioral strategies preferred
- Experience working with paraprofessional teams (for affective needs placement)
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with staff, students, and families
- Must complete specified district documentation before assignment begins
- RefAssured must be completed prior to interview scheduling
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized academic, social-emotional, and behavioral instruction to students based on their IEPs
- Develop, implement, and monitor behavior intervention and academic plans
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Lead and support a team as needed (affective needs role)
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate student records
- Utilize data and evidence-based practices for student progress
