Special Education Teacher - Durham, New Hampshire

In this position, you’ll provide instruction primarily in a resource room, while also delivering targeted push-in services within general education classrooms. The caseload primarily consists of students with moderate disabilities, including ASD, learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, life skills needs, and more.
Qualifications and background we seek:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) for New Hampshire
- Experience in K-12 settings, with flexibility to adapt to various ages and abilities
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and paraprofessionals
- Comfort working with a broad range of disabilities, from ASD to life skills and behavioral needs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Core responsibilities include:
- Delivering engaging, differentiated instruction in a resource room and general education settings
- Supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Facilitating and monitoring IEP goals, documenting progress
- Building positive relationships with students, families, and educational staff
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to the development of individualized support plans
- Flexibly rotating between resource and life skills classrooms as needed
