Special Education Teacher in Rochester, NH
Make an impact supporting K–12 students as a Special Education Teacher in a contracted role, just outside of Rochester, NH. This full-time position (35 hours per week) focuses on meeting the needs of learners with a variety of disabilities, primarily moderate in nature. You’ll work within a resource room setting and provide push-in support in general education classrooms. There’s also an opportunity to be involved with a life skills program, creating a dynamic and varied workday.
Qualifications and Experience Desired:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification for New Hampshire, or eligibility to obtain
- Experience working with K–12 students in a school environment
- Familiarity with a variety of disabilities, including ASD, learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, and life skills needs
- Skilled in individualized educational program (IEP) development, progress monitoring, and collaborative teaching
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Flexible, compassionate, and dedicated to supporting student success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver resource room instruction and push-in support within general education classrooms
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Develop, implement, and monitor students’ IEPs tailored to each learner’s unique strengths and challenges
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and interventions to support students with moderate disabilities
- Maintain data and records documenting student progress and compliance requirements
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive environment that supports all learners
