An exciting opportunity awaits for a passionate Special Education Teacher ready to make a difference during the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract role centers on serving high school students, supporting their academic growth and personal development. With a manageable caseload of approximately 10 students, you’ll deliver instruction tailored to diverse learning needs, both within general education settings and specialized environments, depending on each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher is required.
- Experience teaching at the high school level is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of developing, implementing, and tracking IEPs.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and families.
- Passion for fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction to high school students with varying abilities and needs.
- Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to meet each student’s learning goals.
- Monitor student progress, documenting achievements and adjusting interventions as necessary.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure an integrated approach when services take place inside mainstream classrooms.
- Maintain ongoing communication with families and support staff to promote student success.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training throughout the school year.
- Comply with all reporting requirements and timelines associated with special education services.
